Many paths lead to fatherhood. Some take the path intentionally. Some are on the path accidentally; they did not plan for it, but life happens.
Now, you are a part of an essential group called father.
What do you do now? Wing it? Fake it, ‘til you make it?
Successful fathering is learned. There isn’t a gene in your DNA that automatically starts when you become a father (not for mothers either but that’s a talk for another day).
Most of us learn how to parent by the way we were raised. Things to do and not do. BUT that is not enough, you are not your father (or your mother either). You have your own unique personality, talents, and skills.
Even if you did not grow up with your father in your life, you can still be a very successful father. If you are determined.
You are not alone.
