About Us

His Sparrow Family Center (HSFC) is a 501 (c) (3), non-profit organization incorporated in the State of Maryland on April 15, 2021.

Historically programs that focused on providing services to the mother or woman only, have created unintended consequences. Many times, creating an adversarial environment, an “Us vs Them mentality”. As a result, families are more and more dysfunctional and isolated. Fatherhood is no longer honored or valued. Children are no longer seen as our future but as something to be avoided. Did you know that there are over 400,000 children in the foster care system in the United States? Of this number over 100,000 children are waiting for adoptive homes (source: adoptuskids.org). When children are not connected to their father, they can also lose the whole paternal side of their family as a resource.

HSFC believes that the time is right, the time is now, to make a bold move to:

  • Serve the whole family by starting with fathers and men.
  • Assist and encourage fathers and men to stand-up and work together to break generational cycles of poverty, substance use, domestic violence, and father absence from the home.
  • To advocate for equity for all fathers and men including fathers and men of color who have been historically underserved, marginalized, and adversely affected by persistent poverty and inequality.
  • To partner and collaborate with others to achieve more.
